2.7 were notorious for oil return problems or something to that effect right?

Well, I know the 2.7 Has a Water pump that is TIMING CHAIN Driven, and the block has a "Weep" hole to the outside so the water pump doesn't go bad and cause the crankcase to fill with water...Yep, another one of Chrysler's atempts at using Mercedes Benz technology in their design..BAd idea. ALL the "Alldata", service manuals, etc. tell you to LINE UP the painted links on the new T-chain when replacing the water pump..This however causes the Cam sensor to be out of phase with the Crank Sensor causing the No power/can't rev above 2400 RPM syndrome...Misalign the links just one tooth and it runs great. 2.5 isn't as bad as the 2.7...

well, crap..did you get it adjusted correctly?

could be a bad sensor out of the box....

Yeah its been awhile but anyhow.  Couldn't sleep this morning after a night shift so I played with the car some.  I believe in Murphy's Law, and well anyhow I had a thought that maybe the little felt spacer didn't get knocked off when the car started.  Well holly crap I was right.  So I took it off to loosen it up some and put it back in.  Still didn't get knocked off!

So I finally ended up putting it in without the spacer and just guessing.  Got it running and adjusted it a bit to make it idle better.  That part is done.  I seam to remember that car had a leaking tranny line.  Most definately why it didn't want to shift into gear!  And had nothing showing on the dip stick.

Really tho.  I thought the flywheel or something was supposed to knock that spacer off.  What a tight spot to get at too.  Terrible.  I gave to the cause, got the bruise on my forearms to prove it.
