I've only seen a couple of these cars, but never seen the "Slant 4" engine. Wild huh? It's actually HALF a 389 Pontiac. It isn't running at the moment, been in a barn for the last 30 years. This ones for sale with a Hd top parts car if anyone here is interested. Car is VERY solid for a Convert. Located in Va. It's a 1962 Pontiac Tempest/Le mans. $3500.00 firm for BOTH cars.

I can think of a few models I would own if I had the cash. I had a 1939 sedan a few years ago.

That looks like a cool project.

I have seen a couple but they are rare for sure.  Pontiac was always sort of the Mopar of GM IMO. :icon_smile_big:

Remember the 230 & 250 OHC 6cyl's? Three year run from 67-69....I had one in our 68 Firebird....that little motor would scream. We would race 389 GTO's and win with ours

My mom & dad's first car after they got married was a Pontiac Tempest convertable like that one, but white with a red interiour. They hated it, lol.

My Dad taught me about TIME TRAVEL.

I'm a huge Aztek fan. :D

Actually, my brother is a bit of a Pontiac fan having owned a 68 Firebird and a 63 Tempest. I can't say there's much in their lineup that really floats my boat though compared to the Big Brother Chevy stuff.

Really like the 67 GTO. My next car project will be one of those or a 69 Mustang fastback.

Yeah, I guess I'm a closet Pontiac freak.

I don't own any right now, but I have owned several Firebirds and a 1960 Star Chief.

My Cousin had an early slant-4 Tempest (I never saw it, too young) reportedly very fast-he and my Dad took all the hot-rod stuff for the 389 and made it work in the 4. Since they had a factory at their disposal, they took a hi-po manifold and cut the unused side off with a bandsaw and made a block off plate. 12:1 solid-cam 4 barrel 4 cylinder...had to be something to hear.
