does anyone have a step by step tutorial for disassembly/re-assembly (restoration) of a 68-70 heater box?
wingless now, but still around.

give me a couple weeks and I'll do one. ( I have one each 1969 and 1970 NON A/C boxes on the table )
plus a 1969 A/C box

But basically they are not complicated, Time consuming,,, but not hard at all to do.
I just got all the stamps made to restamp the non A/C boxes.

Stamps for A/C boxes will be next

I rebuilt mine just by picking up bits and pieces from the site. I was one of those jobs that required cleaning and some painting but not a lot of precise work. Fit my skill set rather well!

I guess I should have worded it differently, What I need is a source for the screws and rivits. I have it disassembled and cleaned. I have the gasket kit as well.

I'm working on a screw and tube rivet kit ( but it's low priorty so figure sometime after the 1st of the year before I finalize it )

Main problem is the tube rivets take a specail tool to install and it's kind of expensive for a one time user

Are your ft covers screws clear zinc or dark phosphate ?
( I've seen both ways )

rear cover and the remaining screws - all I ever seen is clear zinc.

If you have'nt done anything with the shell yet, here is what I did with mine.....cleaned it real good with simple green, then an alcohol based cleaner(so it will evaporate out of the fiberglass),then used rattle can  laquer clear from HD,and this is how it came out.
