Found this youtube video of Donahue/Penske that is apparently from a 1970 documentary called "Trans Am Countdown".  Anyone heard of it?

Pretty cool! I love the older Trans Am cars. This is a cool site too http://www.trans-amseries.com/

I even made a replica of the Jerry Titus Trans Am on Forza 4 using photos of the real car.

My Dad taught me about TIME TRAVEL.

That's new stuff I had not seen before.

Ghoste

Nor I.  Not that I have a large collection of Trans Am material but as a fan of both it and Donahue I sure would like to know if that 4 minutes is all there is or if its part of a much larger group of footage.

That one would seem to be an AMC promo film.    There were quite a few different Penske related 16mm films through the years.   Almost every year there was a different one.   The oldest I have is when Roger was still driving the Zerex Cooper.    Some of the later ones covered all their racing programs so it would have Trans-Am and the endurance racing stuff when they ran the Lola T-70s.

That would be interesting.  Did he do it with the Porsche stuff too?

I will have to look, but I think there is something on the Porsches.

Ghoste

The Donahue Porsche was at Amelia the year you brought the Superbird but I don't think it was ever taken to the show field.

That was a weird deal.  I heard the 917 owner was was PO'ed or something to that effect.   Is that true?

Ghoste

Don't know.  It was there for the 917 presentation in the ballroom and as soon that was over he hustled it out of there so there could be some truth to it.  I managed to get a few photos of it so I was happy.
