I've been after this 68 for six years, the owner finally parted with it this Afternoon. She's sports a 318, auto, column shift with factory a/c. The car has been sitting for about 10 years before I towed her home and gave her a nice bath. I had no problem relocating 10 years worth of spider webbing within the engine compartment to my shop vac.

Right now I just want to get her running. Plugs are out and mystery oil in the cylinders. Tommorrow between dinners I am going to drain the tank and add some fresh fuel. We will see from there.

Nice score, got a lot to be thankful for, eh?

Very nice.  Yeah, shop vacs love spider webs, and the little chunks of foam from the seats and headliner too.   :o

Another car saved from rotting away.  I wish those people who say "I'm gonna do something with it "someday", would actually do something with them or put them up for sale.  I hate to see great cars rotting away behind a barn or in a yard and know the owners are never gonna save them.

If I ever win a gozillion dollars from the lottery, I think after the initial shock wears off and I help out my fmaily, I'm gonna go "barn find shopping".  With enough money, I could save quite a few cars, I'll bet.

Wow, beautiful car.  Good Luck.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

jaak

awesome, now you need a 69 for the tri-fecta!

Woot!   :2thumbs:  I take it that it was a hubcap car? Did they come with it? Get into the back seats to look for the broadcast sheet?

Have not gotten to the back seats yet, hope it's there. I think evrything is pretty original as far as the drivetrain and interior is concerned. No hub caps either.

Great find...Being a 318 car, you can modify it alot (engine/trans/paint) and not lose any value.

Thats great! My favorites.... a '68 and a '70.
One thing that few people mention: A 318 car may be a much wiser choice for a project car because its more likely that they were NOT raced and bashed like the 383 and 440 cars.

Nice score! I bet you are satisified

She's a runnin, by-passed the fuel tank and ran it from a can. Now I have to find some
more old milk jugs for the 10 plus gallons of turpentine I have been sucking out of the tank. I ran out of gas cans.

I got 9k of my money invested in the car, traded a 97 jeep and cash.
