looks like i better get moving on my "get adopted by larry" campaign. surely he will need a co-pilot to help move his fleet the fifty miles to the track.

Yes, Larry should bring the New Castle fleet this year.  

I have to travel over just to see his new black one and get pictures of the two together

I'll just go ahead and say it here now then. Like last summer, if you guys wanna all come down here to my place on Thursday afternoon for a cook out your all more than welcome. Doug I wouldn't care if you even put a note saying that in the newsletter.

Mentioned this to Doug tonight so he told me to post it.

I check on rates for the Mircrotel, that was by the restaurant across the street from the Wingate.   It is right in front of Sams

If you call directly to the hotel the rate is higher than the Wingate, but online mircotelinn.com it shows rates of for 2 people ave 114.?? and 122.?? for 4.   I called the toll free number because the hotel directly did not have that rate and at first they gave me a higher rate but when I asked about the rate showing online they said it was a promotional rate   they actually will say 87.96 for Thurs. and 127.96 for Friday and Sat. for 2 people and 95.96 and 135.96 for 4. and averages to the above amounts.  Cancellation is by 4 pm EST the day before on July 25.      I made reservations at these rates for July 26-29.

So not sure how many can get in on the promotional rate but if you want to save some $$, you should make the reservations now.

We were in the lobby of this hotel last year and looked nice and I read the reviews on tripadvisor tonight and seemed to review quite well.

I would love it if my 500 clone was up and running by then but I highly doubt it.  Right now I'm doing a resto on a '69 GTX that will be wrapping up around April and don't think I'll be able to get it on the road by then.  I will definately have the car at an Aero event one day!

prior to the upcoming event, both nationwide and truck series races were held at raceway park in clermont.

beginning in 2012, it will be a three race weekend at the brickyard, with sprint cup, nationwide and grand-am races. the truck series will no longer race at indy.

You really should consider the Brickyard, we had a blast last year and plan to again.   Other than Rich's get together @ MM, Brickyard is way more fun than MM.

Missed Rich's get together last year.

Lots more aero people at the Brickyard.

Bill & Denny were there but was so busy didn't get to visit with them much.

To be honest I have started the car 4 times since it has been here, and other than the one trip of 4 miles to the gas station a week after it got here it has not left the garage. It was tempting to drive it but it's not mine so I will not take it for any joy rides without permission.
