I need help with my 68 RT Charger.  I have the car all together but when I turn the headlights, turn signals and hazards on the fuses glow red and blow as soon as I flip the switches.  Also the DS taillights are bright but the PS are very dim.  Side markers were working now they are not.  PS turn signal in the front works DS does not.  I have all new wiring harnesses throughout the car.  Any help would be great.  I know someone has delt with similar problems in the past.
Thanks, Bob

Since you "HAD" things working and now they're not, I would go back and try to remember any panels or covers that you put on after you did your wiring job. It sounds like you have a wire pinched and shorted out.

Time to go over and check it all, could be a number of things sounds like a short to earth, or you installed the new harness wrong. What have you touched, played with or fiddled with a bit more info would help  was it fine before, have you had the switch out of the steering column.

The car was torn apart when I bought it.  It was a mess.  I had to order every wiring harness for the car.  It is a matching numbers 68 RT.  I installed the new dash harness, restored the steering column and replaced the turn signal switch, new engine harness, fwd light harness, taillight harness, side marker lights are new.  Harnesses are from Year One.

when you say ! turn headlights   ! turn signals !! hazards  on   , is that all the same time or separately ?? when it blows  or both ?

Something is wrong you will have to start eliminating things, eg unplug the front headlamp harness at the bulkhead and test You say in the heading Fuses blowing is it the same one or two different ones. Grab a wiring diagram and start going over it. A test lite would help to start looking for a short or use a multimeter.

The fuses are blowing separately.  I even had the dash restored and all gauges, switches boards tested and calibrated.  When I turn on the headlight switch the fuse gets glowing red and blows.  Same with the hazzards turn on the switch the same thing happens.

Unplug the taillight harness and try it again.

I will try that after work today.  Thanks

I'm not that bright so I would unplug everything and then start with one harness at a time. Soon you will see what works and what doesn't. Also, does it make a difference if the car is running or not? just curious.

you have a short some where so seeing as they all involve the lights & would start with all the Park lights & side lights & see if there is a wire pinched or a wrong bulb in place

I will try that.  Haven't had a chance to work on mine since I found the problem.  Have had to work on my sons riceburner.  Kid just don't have a clue.  Mopar or No Car

I had a similar issue where the wire that went to the front side marker light was routed (squeezed) between the front fender and a bracket.  It was shorted there.
