1969 Charger door glass question

Does the door glass get a plastic up stop in the lower rear part of the door glass?

Reason I ask, I am having issues getting the door glass to seal right.

I can get the Vent wing frames aligned, but the door glass is up to high at the rear hitting the roof rail.
Adjust it down and the vent wing frame is pulled away from the weatherstriping

All the B-body doors I have here are 1968's and none have this style up stop, nor do they even have the hole where this would go

yeah they were on mine !!   have to remove the stops so you can raise the glass high enough so window  regulator arm   slides off the runner on the bottom of the glass , then you can remove the door glass with vent window frame all in one  assembly !
seem to remember a phillps head screw through the centre of the stop also  ,
think mine were slightly different to that  or could be getting mixe up with something else  :scratchchin: normaly happens

yep it uses a stop like pictured with a screw in it to hold in place

Bill, from my experience the '68's did not have the stop. '69 & '70's did.
The rear run channel has a little bend at the top where that glass stop rests against.

If you look closely, the stainless trim at the rear edge of the glass has a white plastic wedge at the bottom with a spring. Isn't there a cutoff year for that as well?

Get the vent wing frame aligned with the roof lines, then adjust the door glass from there.

On the spare doors I have access to, all are 1968's and they have this L-shaped up stop, and I can not find any of these in the parts pile.

The car in question is a 1969, and the door glass in it has these holes which I believe is where the plastic up stops are supposed to be, and yes the rear glass guides have the tab where these would hit up the full up position.

None of the 1968 Doors / glass have these holes in them

Bill, correct the rear guides do in fact have this spring loaded wedge in them . and rear glass guides also have the tab where this plastic stop would hit it.

In the local hunk yard near me , there is a stripped rusted hulk of a 69. and am going down to ck it monday morning

all thats in the corner where the lock & latch is from memory , is removable window run channel

Bill,
Yep, those metal L-brackets are a '68-only thing. '69/'70 used that white plastic stopper, and the rear run channels had a little bend at the top where the stopper rests against.
Let me know if you come up dry at the boneyard. I have a complete P/S Charger door with the guts, several pieces of glass, & I'm sure I have some used stoppers floating around here.  :yesnod:
Good luck!  :2thumbs:

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the offers.

I have new plastic up stops on hand so thats no worries. The rear glass guides are the originals with the bent tab the up stops hits. so I think all is good. I'll be back at it monday morning and i'll try it again

Thanks again
