i think you will remember this ebay ad and the minor uproar it caused some of the members on here.  welp, the guy is finally doing it.  he said he would part it out, now he is.  look at the question/answer part of his auction.  i think he is an idiot but hey, what do i know?  ???

i vaguely remember he was asking an arm and a leg for the car and didnt get it, so here it is:

He'll get about half his money for the good parts then end up lumbered with a load of stuff he cant sell

PocketThunder

He couldn't get $11,500 for it?   I dont know 3rd gen pricing that well..... How much was is it really worth?

What's R/T cloned about that car?  Its a butchered up 71 Charger.  I like how he cut a hole in the bulge hood.....NOT!

TruckDriver

I'm going to sick now :'( :flame: :rotz:

**EDIT** I couldn't resist, but I sent him this ^-^

I am trying to be nice about this, but, you are insane! It is pretty apparent you know little  about Chargers and could care less about them. There are a lot of pissed off people about this, not that you care. Don't be suprized if you dont get what you think you can. The car it's self isn't worth $11,000 as a clone. Maybe $6,000 or $8,000. If the car didn't have the R/T stripes, it would only be a $5,000 car. If you cut the hole in the hood, then that is pretty much use less to most people and will be hard to sell. If you don't believe me, check this thred about you. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php?topic=8637.new#new   Good luck :-\

Well someone stated the car was very rusty that is why he was parting. it.... Well I saw it.... it did need a rear frame section and lower rear quaters that was about it.  I have a rear frame section and wheel tubs that are mint... :rotz:

He emailed me back and was pretty sarcastic. Like we figured, he is expecting a bit more then he will get for the stuff. He said he can get a easy $600. for the mint R/T lights. $400. for the mint dash pad... Ya, maybe he can, but I paid $500. for my near mint R/T lights. and for about $400., I can get my dash recovered and have it new again, not old easy to crack viynl.

He'd be better getting what he can for the car and putting it in a savings plan, it'd be past 11500 by the time he's sold all that stuff, I reckon it'd take years to get rid of some of it
might put a bid in for the rear lights tho' :icon_smile_big:
if he doesn't save the money somehow he'll just fritter it away while he's trying to sell other stuff and in the end it'll be like he gave it away for nothing

I will get the token "its his car, he can do what he wants" out of the way first.  BTW, that might be an R/T hood with insert removed, as opposed to a chopped up Bulge hood. From his lousy pic, i cant tell.   At this point, i hope he does part it out, that 5 other cars are saved by its parts, and the owner ends up way shy of his 11.5k mark. parting out a car and ebaying it all, requires a lot of time and work. While there are a handful of easy money parts on a car, there are also a lot more that you end up either selling for next to nothing or throwing out. I dont see any point in harassing the seller though, telling a stupid person that they are stupid is an excersize in futility.   :yesnod: :brickwall: :Twocents:

Please don't make people angry and then send them here. Thanks.

As I have always said (and heard): it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Telling a seller their price is too high is a waste of time because simple economics will tell you that if he can't sell it he will either keep it or lower the price. Insulting someone is rarely a recipe for success. Obviously he didn't take the previous hint and may only make half of what he wants but at least he won't be hoarding all the parts. Maybe someone else's car will get finished instead.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

If you folks are so concerned about what this guy is doing with HIS car, why didn't you buy it?

If you couldn't afford it, you should have all pooled your money together and went in on together.  Then you could get a good nights sleep.   :D

Because he wanted 11.5k for the car but coudnt even post one single decent picture of it when he had it on ebay.
Is that a good enuff reason?  ;D

It almost sounds like a stolen car with a bogus frist ad, then the part it out deal.  :icon_smile_blackeye:

Why bother otherwise?  As stated above:  it is a lot easier to simply sell a whole car than try to part the thing out for a few extra bucks.

Maybe I'm just lazy or a little more sane?  :icon_smile_dead:

Just my opinion, but I think the stolen car theory is a stretch. i think that the guy probably is suffering from "I will show them a-holes" syndrome as a result of the nasty emails he most surely got when he originally attempted to sell the car.  Now he has to prove he has the muchismo to follow thru on his "threat" to part out the car if his reserve wasn`t meet. I think if the car was stolen, most semi-intelligent (may not apply in this case)  people would dismantle it ASAP and just sell the non traceable  parts.

Chris G.

I don't know guys, it seems like this is the third or fourth time he has done an auction about parting this car. I think it's all hogwash. I think his reserve on the engine is probably 5K. He is always mentioning how much he wants for the car before he parts it. It's all a scam, and he's probably already on this site reading this thread.

As a wiseman once said...Don't believe the hype.
