When I'm showing my Daytona, I put a small sign in the window telling my story about the car. People are very surprised when they read that I'm the original owner and ask how many other original owners that still have there cars are there?. I don't have a clue. I would guess 20 or 30 perhaps. Has any one ever seen a registry or outher count? I was 21 when i got my car, I'm now 63 so I'm sure the number is going down. Just a thought.

I Bought The Dr. Cheesborough car (DocTona) straight from the good doctor.

I bought the DiscoTona from the original owner through a middleman.

It must be comforting for an original owner to be able to say they are the only one who has ever farted in the seat.   :smilielol:

I do not own them, but I know these two wing cars below are original owner cars.

Unfortunately the owner of this bird, that bought it new in 1970 died just a week after taking these pictures.  I was very fortunate to meet him.  RIP Steve

I ran into this bird at the MATS this year. It has only 14,200 miles on it and I am 99% sure he told me he was the original owner. (white haired gentlemen in the background)
440 6 Barrel car. Very nice!

If I had to venture a guess it would probably be around 15-20 daytona's that are still in the original owners possession. As far as Superbirds go it is probably even more than that. I can think of 5 people who have Charger 500's that are original owners.

smartass time?  503+392+1970=2865 original owners  ;)

As far as my Daytona goes the back seat has far more interesting stories to tell then the front seats.

i think larry means me. im technically not the original owner, although my name has been on the title of a daytona since september 1969.

this could mean one of two things - im named after my dad (who was named after his dad), or i bought a new car while in kindergarten.

Danny,
Yes, the never ending Saga. The last time I talked to the owner (a few months ago) he decided to keep it at least "another year", and still wants $200k if he does decide to sell

Not if they had more than one!

Are there any known cases of this?  did someone buy two different aero cars new?

Aero426

Pretty sure that Elmer bought both his Daytona and Superbird as the first owner.
