when I was redoing my car it had been sitting since the 70s  with 73K on it and the pinion seal was leaking a little and I replaced it .After about 10K it started leaking again so I changed it again. The car has been sitting on my trailer for the last few years(didn't run) and when I rolled it into the garage there was an oil slick the length of the trailer. Sure enough it is the pinion seal again. My thought is the pinion bearing is worn and is taking out the seals BUT there is no noise coming from it..  91 K now,  Ideas ?? :shruggy:

Without seeing a picture of where the fluid is leaking can only speculate. Sounds like what you figured...

Did you put some oil at the pinion seal before you installed it, if it was dry they will wear out fast.

There's several versions of dana 60 pinion seals.      Mine's a converted 88 ford e250 dana so I use the much beefier pinion seal from that.

1. Check your axle vent to be sure the case is not pressurizing when warm and forcing oil out.
2. Check your pinion seal surface for grooving.
3. If not #1 or #2 then you must verify pinion bearing preload.

The only way the seal can leak is wear of seal or pinion surface, pressurization, or pinion wobble.

True - You need to make sure you have the right seal and you need to properly torque the yoke back on as well.

Check the other stuff elacruze mentioned as well.
