Vent hose just hanging?

The right hand vent hose, is there anything that should hold it in place or did it just hang there?

A tip: after cleaning the old gray vent hoses, i used tire gloss to soften and get the hoses black again

just repaired one of them , FYI, they are A/C can only . I looked at maybe 4 or 5 of them last weekend during my junkyard  detour last weeeknd, and every one of them was cracked like this

as soon as the heater core and evaporator come back, I'll get this A/C box re-assembled and back in the car
