Tan - I figured you would have posted the story as well as the pics..  :icon_smile_big:

QuoteThis is an extreme longshot. I get that. I owned a 69 Charger that I bought used in 1974 and owned up until 1981. I lived in Moulton Texas at the time and I sold it to a guy by the name of Wayne Horton in Halletsville, Texas. He actually owned the car longer than I did, but the car ended up being parked for a number of years. I talked to his mother about six years ago and she informed me that Wayne had passed away, and had sold the car to someone in Gonzales, Texas sometime around the late 1990s or early 2000s. She couldn't remember exactly. They had to trailer the car since it no longer ran.

It was my high school car. My wife and I dated in that car. I would like to find the current owner to discuss reacquiring it if he hasn't restored it yet, to see if we can agree on a price. (If the current owner has put a lot of money into a restoration, I'd still like to get in contact, though I may not be able to pay the asking price.)

The picture was taken around 1981 before we sold the car to Wayne. The car was yellow with a black vinyl roof. It was originally a butternut type of light yellow, but as you may be able to see, I repainted it with a brighter yellow. The VIN would have indicated the car was equipped from the factory with a 383 two barrel carb. Well, I toasted the 383 in 1976 and replaced it with a 440 that came out of a 70 or 71 Newport, if I remember correctly. It had a factory Holley and I had converted it to electronic ignition. Instead of mounting the module on the firewall, I put it on the radiator support in front of the radiator to help keep it cooler.

If you happen to own this car and see this, then you know I've described details only a previous owner would know. Also, the seats were recovered with a plain vinyl at some point before I owned the car. Whoever did it simply sewed the covers over the original covers. That's something else that only the previous owner would have known. Get in touch with me if anything I've described sounds familiar. Thanks!

Unfortunately when the ad rots so will the ability to contact him...  Tan did you reply to the ad and try to get contact info to post?
