Original Carter 68 383 h code carb vs a 68 440 RT Carter carb both auto with air

Do the above carbs flow the same cfm? Are they jetted the same? Any big digfferences? I have the original 383 carb for my car but put a mild 440 in the car and would like to know if I could run the 383 carb, or would I have to make several upgrades?

both are probably AVS carbs so the cfm will be the same but jetting & air door settings will be different

I thought the 383's had 650 cfm's and the 440 had the 750 cfm's..........

All Carter AVS carbs originally designed for Chrysler 383 HP vehicles produced 625 CFM (same as all 340 HP carbs). the 440 HP's all came equipped with 750 CFM AVS carburetors.

it sure will. you'll be starving that poor ol' 440. they made only one 625 CFM AVS for the Low Performance 440 C-body cars in 1971 (Carter AVS #4966S).
