So I just got back from putting my Charger up for the winter.      Less that 30 min after getting home I am already bumming that it will be close to 6 months before I will get to take her out again.

Glad that Brian (NHCharger) called me up and took me out for one last cruse 2 weekends ago...  Hope to return the favor and take him around central VT next spring.

I live about 2 hours south of you, and have not put mine up yet. I just can't seem to bring myself to do it!
This weekend looks like it will be a nice sunny one, but kinda cool. I will definitely be out in the Charger for at least some driving time. I hate to put her away...

I just arrived at work in mine.  Mornings are around 40-ish, afternoons between 50-60....and the heater control valve is on the workbench.....I think I might be in denial.

A few more weeks and mine will be gone as well, I don't think it would do well in the Michigan winters.  I may remove a few parts like cluster and steering wheel to restore over the winter, just don't know if I will actually have the time to work on them.

I probably could have kept running the car a bit longer but as I have to work around the schedule of the warehouse it was either 2 weeks ago or this weekend, well, yesterday anyhow. I caught up with the owner taking his GTO up last night and yesterday was more convenient than the weekend.

If I can get some of the existing house projects completed then I can start work on putting up a garage/shop that will store and provide work space for cars. Hope to get to that by the time my boys get to high school so I can begin the larger scale work on the car. (3-4 yrs)

It's funny that planning the resto sometimes takes more time and work than the actual resto.  

I'll admit it, I'm in denial, it's cold and windy out there but I'm still flying around in the Charger.  The neighbors won't mind it's gone though as I'm leaving tire marks everywhere I go.

Like you and all of us up north-ish, it'll hurt me to store it but the anticipation of spring will be a good one!

It's almost time to put mine away too...but there's big plans. New engine, brakes, front end, etc. etc....kind of dreading it actually.

I may be able to get one or two more cruises in. We'll see how the weather goes...

Mine is staying out til it snows. We just had our one year anniversary together and I'm not ready to send her to hibernation yet!

Well, I did a bunch of searching for threads here on DC.com for pointers (just used the keyword winter) and found a vast and wide variety of stuff that folks do. I chose what I thought made the most sense.  

- put stabilizer in the tank and fill it
- put a bunch of bounce sheets in the cabin and trunk (I don't have any evidence to support that this isn't any thing more than snake oil but ill give it a shot)
- pull down the visors
- crack the windows to let it vent and put a bed sheet over the gaps. (I think I will get a car cover for next year)
- pull the battery and take it home to put on a tender.

Ill let you know how the experiment turns out.

Sounds good to me but I don't get the visor thing.

One of the posts mentioned that the mice seem to like to get up between the visors and the roof and make themselves comfortable by chewing up the visor and the headliner.

I just picked up the NAPA brand that is formulated for ethanol in the gas. Got enough for 20 gal and dumped it in before I filled the tank.  In the past (vehicles other than the Charger) I have used Stabil but they didn't have the stuff for ethanol on the shelf. Not sure it makes much diff but the price wasn't any different either.

Not a good Idea. The first place you drove him to, you would leave him and not look back! Its easier to deal with the winter weather. Plus you don't want the Chuck curse on your car.

I was at the hardware store the other day and one of the women there told me that her husband uses irish spring bath soap cut into pieces and spread all around his cars and his car trailer, which is full of army surplus stuff at the moment. She claims it will actually get rid of mice if you have them.

What's the best stabilizer?

Every year I use Sta-Bil brand in the Charger, mowers, weed wacker,  etc. They always start up with no problems after sitting.

Awe man, well, getting her out in the spring will be like waiting for your birthday every year when you were a kid.  I drive mine till the first snowfall then button her up.
I do the filler up with gas, dryer sheets, mouse traps, etc.  Didnt know about the visor turn down, thats a good idea also.
