Hello! This is a clip from the 1968 charger that was used in the movie Grand Theft Auto. I was wondering if this is a factory color. It looks like a purple color, but is not plum crazy. it's too dark.

I remember the movie well, don't know the paint code, but it is that 68 burgundy color.

I see. So it should be on a 1968 paint chip chart?

Not sure, but I gotta buddy with a meticulously restored '68 GTX painted that same burgundy color. Plum Crazy didn't come out until 1970.

Sort of hard to distinquish the color, but it looks like the Burgundy of '68...

This is the clip of the movie when he puts the charger in reverse. This is not the inside of a charger.

they must have decided to add the shot after the cars was wrecked. Just a guess

ACUDANUT

I have read, you could have any color you wanted painted at the factory (way back then).
