OK, I'm going to attempt to begin the Current story on the white Bird, AS it is No suprise to a few of you on here, the White Bird is going to be restored in season lll of Graveyard carz. After My story was Published By Doug in the DSAC newsletter , it wasn't long before I spoke to Mark Worman, about the story, and the Second car ( the white bird) ....As it stands, It will be on there show in season 3 ..... My son was ecstatic to have the Opportunity to Be on the show and also it FINALLY gave Him a ligament reason to step foot on a airplane..( He's never flown...until now). we Struck a deal with Mark , and shipped out the bird last Summer, we flew out last September to do the "story on the cars" and taping of our segment on graveyard carz. It was a very laid back shoot, and the cast and crew are top notch. My son was tickled to be on their show and awaits the up coming season ( plus one for season 3) . It will be a very worthwhile wait, to say the least.
Our initial plans was for the Car to be done "body in White" However after thinking about the Distance of having the motor/Tranny shipped back to us for my son and I to have rebuilt and intall here ourselves, We had to re- think our plan.....*( mark wanted to do the story as a complete "untouched" project so that they could dissemble the car on the show and document all. ....with all that said, we decided to talk to Harry (original owner), He agreed with our second Idea,.... and that is to drive it home ....take a week ... and make a Father/Son Crosscountry trip in our restored bird. ..so that's the plan.
If it works out Harry will fly out with us to Pickup the car ( he will also be on the show).....lets hope it all works out ....
all for now, Mike and Michael Hill

I saw the white and primer bird at welbys, back in may.was pretty sure that it was your car,but maybe not long way from home.   i was there to measure and fondle,,ooh check out the daytona nose and did trace the shape and size of the daytona too fender mounting face.  did 2 tracings on large cardboard,so i could reinforse and cut out and size up to my 75 dar-tona topless project. hope to order my nose in a few weeks,to modify for my toy..

:scratchchin: :scratchchin: HEY JUST HAD A IDEA???  maybe i should open my house as bed and breakfast and airport transport to members coming out to welbys???    IAM only 20ish  blocks from his shop???  HOW MUCH IS FARE TO BE PICKED UP ,SAY IN MY 67 RAGTOP BELVE AND SHOWN THE BIG SIGHTS OF SPRINGFIELD,OREGON???????????????MORE LATER? :icon_smile_question: :shruggy: :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :2thumbs:

My son was tickled to see us on there show...kinda funny about watching it....if you notice he's (my son) wearing a School's baseball team name on his shirt.....lol..that was his baseball coaches idea....(the coach is also one of Michael s teachers .....got him some extra credit in his class...too funny. It was definitely a trip my son and I will never forget.....

Hey Mike !!! Man, it was nice seeing you and Mike Jr. on the show.... I grabbed Jacob and asked him, "Hey, don't you remember Mike? He was at Talladega with us chatting in the staging area."............ He said, "Dad, nope"...... hahahaha.. I have to remember, Jacob was only 4 years old at the time..

I guess I was more pumped up seeing you on TV... Not as pumped up as Mark's going to be on your return.......  :icon_smile_big:

Good going there.... So tell me the truth, how many "takes" did it take?  :smilielol:

I thought it was a pretty good episode also. I thought the story was told really well and enjoyed seeing the other pictures of them buried in those weeds.  I thought it was cool the way they did the fade from when you were standing next to the car when you first bought it and then the current picture showing how much your son has grown.  They do grow up fast!  Nice story.

oldcarnut

Any chance somebody could record the episode and post on youtube or similar?  Like to see it but don't get the channel

Did you check on the velocity site

I never once seen a full episode on their site. I only seen short clips of the show. It is killing me I never seen the show since they stopped posting it on the web.
