Free to Air Satellite - anyone have?

First off, I'm sick of paying for TV.   I like to sink my money into my cars instead.

Anyway, I friend just told me about FTA Satellite services.  Remember in the 80's when people would get the 10' dishes in the back yard and you were jealous as heck! 

Does anyone have a FTA system set up now.  Looking for opinions.   I see that if you get a dish that has a motor you can pick up many different satellites.   I'm looking into this pretty hard, but find a lot of mixed information.
