I'm going to start rebuilding a Carter Carburetor (#4426 for anyone who cares) and I needed to pick up a gallon of Berrymans Carburetor cleaner. I stopped by one of the local O'Reilly Auto Stores, grabbed a gallon off of the shelf and proceeded to checkout. The young salesman rings me up (actually scanned the can), I swipe my credit card and, after a few seconds waiting for the card scan pad to return the price, see that he wants to charge me, wait, let me get my receipt, a whole $2.80. For a gallon of Berryman's Carburetor Cleaner. After a WTF moment (during which the credit card receipt is now being printed), and being that I'm a good person, a practicing Christian, and one who really believes the whole "do unto others" creed, I said something along the lines of "Wait...you want to charge me $2.80 for a gallon of carburetor cleaner, when the shelf price is $27.95?". He looked at me, kind of giggled, and replied along the lines of "Sure, what the hell". I look more closely at the credit card receipt and see that the description for the item I just purchased was "door molding". He was clueless. I walked out shaking my head. I fully expect that O'Reilly Auto Parts store to be out of business by the New Year. Maybe I should have asked for the other can still on the shelf, and gotten two gallons for $5.60. Not the quality employee I'd want to have.  ::)

On the other hand, I also purchased a few minutes later a gallon of Mallard Green exterior semi-gloss paint from Kelly Moore, and that cost me over $50.  :o   So maybe it was just a Karma/Carma type of day.  :slap:

Good for you!  :2thumbs: Trying to do the right thing.

We have had the same type of thing happen. Stuff that didn't make it on the ticket but was put in the bag by the clerk. Called back and tried to pay for it and they sent us to Customer Service who basically didn't care.

If the computer says so it must be true.

I went to a McDonald's once and ordered a burger, fries and soda off the dollar menu, The person behind the counter told me they were out of soda and the total was $14.63

I asked her $14.63 for a burger and fries off the dollar menu, looked at the computer screen again and said "Yep"
I told her to keep it and turned around and walked out.

Kids today just don't have a brain of their own, I guess that's why they get paid minimum wage.
