I did a very stupid thing several years ago when i sold my 1970 Dodge Charger R/T which was numbers matching. Times were hard for a young family as I had three kids and putting a wife through nursing school. I was just wondering if it was still around? It was sold as a nice car but I hope someone has given it a 100% full registration. If you have this car please shoot me a message on here. Maybe I can talk you out of it. I have missed that car every day since it left.

ChargerST

I can't believe it! I own your former Charger!!!!  :o

I tried to trace back the history of it but didn't get very far. This is soooo cool. Give me your e-mail address and I'll give you all the details.
btw. the Charger now lives in Austria - about 3 miles away from Arnold Schwarzenegger's birthplace.

The Charger in my avatar is the Charger I'm talking about.

For what it's worth...

You set your priorities and put family first, that's a good thing in my book.   :2thumbs:

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

How long have you had the car? Please send pictures? I remember a man flying into the local regional airport and driving this thing from Alabama to Oklahoma I think it was. He called me when he arrived and said the only trouble he had was one blown tail light.

Whoa. :o If only we all had such quick and painless history searches.

Haha awesome! Where do you live? Jim, the guy I bought the Charger from in April 2008, told me he bought the Charger somewhere in Alabama (he wasn't sure but he said it was Dothan). I found the Charger on craigslist with the help of a search engine named "jaxed mash" in Owasso (Tulsa). We e-mailed back and forth till I was convinced that this was the car I want (Jim was so kind to send me every picture I wanted and promised to hold the car - he's a man of word). Bought a ticket to Tulsa and was on my way 4 days later. Of course one of my flights got cancelled, got rebooked on a later plane, luggage lost etc. - Jim was so kind to pick me up at the airport and even offer me the guest room at his house!   thumbs up for mopar people! The next morning I was on my way to Washington DC - a 1300 mile trip with 500 miles in pouring rain - took me 2 days! No problems with the Charger except that I locked myself out of the car at a gas station - only had the key to the driver's side door and the mechanism inside the door failed (had to call AAA but was on my way 1/2 hour later).

Jim said that a friend of his spotted the Charger somewhere next to the road in AL. That must have been around 2002. I tried to trace back the history of the Charger but Jim couldn't find any paperwork. So I tried to find a Mopar club in Dothan that knew the car but no luck. Jim also told me that the car was built/partially restored before he bought it but he didn't know what exactly was done to the Charger back then.

btw. I'm friends with Jim on facebook - I can give you his contact if you want.

Have to send you an e-mail asap

Here's a picture when the Charger arrived at my place (check out the 1970chargerregistry.com):

Nice. I'm living vicariously through you guys right now. I have only found one previous owner of my 68 and he doesn't have any photos and can't recall much otherwise. The current owner of my 70 can't even bother to email me a single picture... :brickwall:

Well, I might try my luck on the lottery this weekend. I was just at a Mexican Restaurant eating when the waitress saw me scratching my palm. She told me that is a sure sign money is headed my way. Maybe it will be enough to buy the car back..... I really am still overwhelmed by the quick responce. Way to go DC.com

Wow, that is (in danger to repeat what is being mentioned 50 times already), very very cool. That shows that this forum is useful in many ways, and that mopar guys are way cooler than chevy guys (hehe).
Btw, did you guys buy lottery tickets that day?

Not worse or better. Just finding out that it is owned and enjoyed even though it is around the other side of the planet and still regarded as a very cool car in its new home

I sold a car 6 years ago to the other end of the country and I see pics of it on the net at the racetrack or on hillclimbs every so often , happy with that - it got my Family ahead at the time

Put up a few more pics ChargerST

Good looking car.

What are the odds you'd find it half way around the world yet in under 20 minutes.
