Hello all,

My project it slowly coming picking up steam once again, what is the correct air cleaner for a 1970 charger with Hemi motor?  :2thumbs: Anyone have a good source on where I can get an air cleaner set up... don't care if it's a reproduction.  Just want to lift the hood open and have that original look.  Also, the Hemi has a dual quad carb set up.

Thanks in advance,
Eddie

Here's a '70 Charger R/T... Not sure there's anyone who reproduces the hemi non-fresh air base plate... They are HARD to find.  Thanks to moparponderosa for having these I "borrow"..  :icon_smile_big:

+1

Also - I posted some pics a few weeks ago on here of a brand new car - the owner took pics after it got off the hauler at the dealership.

Here is mine....

Some sources say that a few 70 Charger R/T's got the 66-69 chrome dome from the factory. I have not seen any proof of that however.

Many thanks for the pictures provided, any chance I can get pictures of the base plate  :popcrn:to see what I need to find next?  I see the lids are reproduced and I just want to make sure I know what the base plate looks like.  Might have to see if I can get a custom part made if possible.

Thanks in advance,

It has 2 holes in it for the 2 x 4 barrels.. :icon_smile_big:...and the front air shield shown in the pics.

Are you saying you want to see a real one so you can tell it from a re-pop?

Here is what I found on the net, just want to see if this is about as close as I can get to getting a correct cleaner for my car and just put a shield at the front to recreate what a real one looks like.  If you have a real 1970 B-body Hemi air cleaner, can someone post a picture of the bottom base of the air cleaner?  I'd appreciate the effort as I'm working on my restoration project 1970 Charger and want to see if I can find some good reference pictures to help with my engine build of my project's current phase.

Also, what is the size of the lettering... Can someone provide a measurement of how tall the letters are and how long the HEMI word is across the air cleaner!?!?  :-)   :icon_smile_cool:

Eddie

Maxwellwedge,

Thanks for the help, if you can get me that picture of the base, I'd appreciate the effort and help!!!  While you are at it, is it possible to get a measurement of the Hemi wording?  I was told it might be about 3" x 11"....

Many thanks!
