I was also raised to believe that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all....so my mouth is shut on this one.

Maybe so but there is also a time to tell someone that has the booger on their nose to wipe it off cause it looks tacky. Many parents failed to teach that one.  :yesnod:

Oh damn, now that is funny.

I was being nice FWIW.

I sent an e-mail yesterday to the seller, simply and nicely asking if the car was a 69 or 70. It's 30 hours later and no reply.  :shruggy:

I don't mind the exterior although the interior isn't exactly what I'd call a thing of beauty.

Remember though, the car will appeal to someone. I'm sure someone in the world wants a resto-mod charger and there is no way you could build that car for 20K, so in reality the car is quite cheap to someone interested in it. I also don't agree with the false advertising about a numbers matching hemi or gator grain top. At least you'd have some argument to pull out of the ebay deal.

To each their own, but not my cup of joe  :Twocents:

I would dare say that this guy has probably copped enough crap from others that he doesn't have to hear it from me  :icon_smile_big:

Oh and Tilar, you have a little something hanging from your nose  :nana:

wow. what a joke. I dont really like the style of this car but I could see someone liking the way the car is set up a lot. 20k only seems like a ripoff. but yeah they obviously dont know thier cars because of the things they said were factory were not!

Anyone notice that their were no seatbelts? I also did not see any interior door handles, or window handles. How would you get out or roll the windows up?

Brass

No proper speedo either, as far as I can see.

Seller responded to my email. Didn't answer any of my questions. I also asked for engine pics so he sent me 50 more pics of the car but no engine pics. He also wanted to know how much I would pay lol.

4 days later and I haven't heard back on an e-mail. All I asked was if it was a 69 or a 70. No response.

Winning bid was $31,666. The reserve was met before $30k. Unexplainable - the dealer ad had a price of $99,000 and yet an e-bay reserve of $28-29. Still no pics of the motor.  :shruggy: :shruggy:

I have decided that *MOST* of what is on eBay, is not what it appears...  :flame:

Take this one:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-69-Dodge-CHARGER-SE-R-T-clone-440-Big-Block-Engine-BEAUTIFUL-restoration-/130586527130?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1e6790459a#ht_2755wt_1167

"Sold" for $28,800, or within $200 of what is claimed to take to buy the car... But it's for sale again this week, as it's been for sale for much of the past year...

Love the 99-cent bungee cord used to hold down the battery... On a $30k Charger, really??  :scratchchin:

Here's this week's ad:

The Arrow

That's my Charger, thanks.

Are you perhaps aware that there are a lot of deadbeat buyers on eBay?

And that I'm only looking to get less than 60% of its appraised value.

This used to be a decent forum, populated by decent people. Many years ago.

Sorry if I struck a nerve, but why not fix the $5.00 door pin and replace the 99-cent bungee cord? With all due respect, you are not asking a cheap price, even at "60% of the appraised value". Fix the little stuff - again, especially if it's really so minor  :coolgleamA:

Your car looks good in pics (didn't see a closeup of the peeling paint you mentioned though) and I'd actually be interested in buying your car - but not at the asking price implied. Anyways, here's to a deadbeat not screwing up your sale again - that has to be frustrating!

36 hours after the auction ended (sold according to e-bay) and the seller sent an e-mail.:icon_smile_question: I never bid, all I asked was if it was a 69 or 70, and for a motor pic.  :scratchchin:

There were 100 pics attached (none of the motor).:icon_smile_question: He asked me to make an offer on the car. :scratchchin: :scratchchin:

I see your Charger is for sale again... More deadbeats from the last auction?  :shruggy: I would probably be more serious about your car if it were priced more in-line with the details which need to still be fixed.  :Twocents:

I am finding this month that virtually all ads online are overstated. And with the number of eBay ads pulled, I hate to even get involved in an auction which ends one way or another out of my favor... Cars.com has also turned into a haven for scams  :flame:

Anyways, trying to buy another Charger before my wife finds a new SUV. Who's gonna win  :scratchchin: And for the Arrow, good luck on your Charger sale

Biting my toungue on this one, but have to ask one question:   Where are the gauges?  (or are there any?......)

1970Moparmann

A car like that with a 2 sentence description is the biggest red flag.   WTF.  Must of had some friends bid on it or something.
My name is Mike and I'm a Moparholic!

...and the white 69 Charger pulled even fewer bids than before... Seems every time it is listed, it goes lower... First, within a few hundred of what was wanted for the car. Then a few thousand under that auction, now a few thousand less, again...

Sill has the bungee cord battery hold-down and $5.00 fix issue outstanding. Are these auctions for real? :popcrn:
