Lower cowl and AC question

Im repairing the lower cowl on my 69 charger. It is an AC car and both of my chimney pieces need repaired. I have new chimneys I was just wondering if non-AC cars had both chimneys or just the one on the drivers side. If this is the case, can I just smooth out the passenger side chimney and just keep the drivers side? AC is not going back in the car.

Also, I see alot of guys chargers that have smoother firewalls than mine, with no heater motor poking out? where is it?

they all had both chimneys.  Fresh air is supplied separately to pass vent (part of heater box) and dvr vent.
