I geeked out last night... (ordered an LM-1)

...and ordered an Innovate Motorsports LM-1 Digital Air / Fuel Ratio Meter. I also sprung for the auxilary input cable with RPM converter.

I've been watching Ebay for one of these for quite sometime, but the price has been stuck a little bit out of reach. Used ones are bringing darn near the same price as new ones.

This weekend I got wind of a group discount being offered through TurboMustangs.com. I managed to get a new one for less than the cost of a used one. I'm now a registered user on TurboMustangs.com to boot! Just call me 79_Ghia (after my first car)! :icon_smile_big:

If you aren't familiar with these things you should read up. Very cool tuning device. Not only does it read and log air / fuel ratio, but it also has data inputs for RPM and five other parameters of your choice. You can store up to 45 minutes worth of data and upload it to your computer for analysis.

These things are all the rage for the late model guys hopping-up computer controlled cars with fuel injection. Most would argue they are overkill for a carbureted car (I tend to agree to some extent). Old timers will probably claim they are a crutch for someone who can't read plugs. They definitely rate pretty high on the "Geek Scale", but everyone who has ever used one swears by them.

I'll play with it for a while; tune my car, and maybe rent/loan it out to a few others, then probably sell it and recoup most of my investment.

This weekend I might head over to the local "pull-a-part" and snag a MAP sensor and a couple TP sensors to rig up. I'm trying to think if there are any other parameters worth checking on a carbureted car for which I can easily (and cheaply) find a sensor.

Anybody here have any experience with these things?
