Do you buy:

A: the #s matching Survivor - 1969 R/T in need of tlc

B: the restified 1969 383 car w fresh everything, somewhat correct
:popcrn:

And why?

moparstuart

it all depends on what you want to do with the car .  at this point id buy the R/T if i had the money . , i have plenty of dressed up drivers and would love a numbers matching R/T
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

WHITE AND RED 69

I'd take the somewhat correct one and then make it into the charger I want. To me the words numbers matching and survivor just means your going to spend a lot more time and cash. I'd rather put that extra money into modifications that will make the car more reliable and comfortable for daily use.

when you say a little tlc on car A, it all depends on how much tlc.
If its much tlc, I would spring the money for car B.

b all the way. if im not selling, the titles dont matter to me. and id drive the heck out of it without fear. if you have a collection, your more apt to go with the exclusive. if you will have 1 car, its more apt to be a driver that is done. i will be the 1 charger guy. :yesnod:

70 Duster (Moulin Rouge)
73 Challenger
50 Dodge Pilot House

440

I'd go with the R/T, but as jaak says how much TLC .. If it's too much then it may lose it's survivor status and in that case I'd look for another car.

Daytona R/T SE

I'd put the $25,000 Down on a new SRT8 Challenger,  :2thumbs:

Then I'd call Mopar Stuart to come and drag all my old junk to his salvage yard... :callme:

...On the strict condition that he crush it all and post the video on youtube... :smash:

B just because i have a numbers match car and would like to have one im not afraid to modify or hoy rod occasionally.

Vainglory, Esq.

I think it depends on what you already have.  Since I already have a non-numbers matching car that I built the way I wanted to, I'd take the survivor without a second thought.  That being said, if I had no car at all now, I'd still probably take the survivor, but it'd be by a nose.

thedodgeboys

It depends

Will you have the cash and the time to fix up car A? If so yes if that's all you have for car money car B gets you driving and enjoying your car right after he hands you the keys.

doctor4766

I think I'd like the R/T myself.

Question though.
Is there much difference in power between a stock 383 and stock 440? (all else being equal ie same carb, same gears, same exhaust etc)
Gotta love a '69

wow realy, most guys would kill to have your cars.   a real c500,afew road runners,a very neat show,,birdable with real wing and nose and a rt or daytona clone with steel nose and aluminum wing,,,wow id be way happy with those cars..     beside even a # block and trans case does not mean any real parts are inside them....  you got great cars that lots of guys would  love to have  just 1 or 2 of.    25,000 would go long ways for daytona clone and maybe a hemi in the c500...        thanks for sharing your cars and storys,,enjoy. dj out west :drool5: :drool5:

Here are two cars that could be used as examples:

1)   69 R/T Survivor for reference:

2)  or something like this 383 XP car for reference:

I would build another garage..................and then fill it!!   :drive:

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

Would spring for A), always can do the tlc things further down the track and drive it without tearing it down for the full resto. The 440 would do it for me  :icon_smile_big:
Also, if things went pear shaped and had to sell the car sometime, then it would be easier to sell it than a 383 car of similar condition

It can be done.. relatively speaking, I acquired both my Daytona and Charger 500 for less than $57,000.....

Good luck on the decision. For me personally, I would take the R/T hands down. If that indeed is the R/T you're referring to, it looks pretty good. Some buffing of the paint and cleaning up of the wheels and you're in business. How's the interior and drivetrain? If the other sides of the car look as good and solid as your posted picture, it's the best deal....

The question was purely hypothetical, as I believe both cars have been sold...  :coolgleamA:

You got both your cars for less than $57k  :o What year was this? Nice!
