Started the fresh build for the first time today.  It has been years coming and everything went well.  Want to thank everyone on this board for all the info over the years putting this car together.  Have a long way to go though..

  :icon_smile_big:

In case anyone is interested I snapped a quick video once it was set at 2000 rpms.

Awesome!  But whats the loud clacky noise towards the end?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Sound is just the phone I took the video on.  It is quiet when the phone is over the engine compartment, but when I pulled it away and it sounds loud.  Didnt change noises live in person ;-)

Was it 20 minutes at 2000 rpm? How long did you run it?

69fourspd

Thats right.  Just over 20 minutes. kept it about 2100 RPMs and every other minute would bring it to about 2300-2400.

:2thumbs: Was this a recent rebuild or had it sat a while?

69fourspd

Actually sat 4 years before starting.  I ended up pulling the intake to re grease the cam.  It was pretty dry.  I am guessing a few summers of heat made the moly lube drip off slowly.  Glad I did it...

Here is the thread asking the guys if I should pull the intake in the first place....
