How much do you have in it?

How much money do have invested in your Charger (or whatever model brings you to this site) vs. how much it would sell for right now? The market is in the toilet, so NADA book value, and what some one is willing to pay for it are to very different things. I am more interested in actual resale value vs. actual $$ invested in it.

I have not added up every $ I have spent on my 72, but I know I am way upside down in it. When I bought the 72 a couple of years ago I paid the previous owner about 1/3 of what he had spent on the restoration. Since then I put even more $$ in to it finishing things up and making it the way I wanted it.

I bought mine for$ 2500, about 13 years ago and it was my daily driver until I parked it for 10 years. Now I have a total of $6500 including purchase. I don't know what it would sell for today, but I think much more....   but it isn't for sale.....ever.

Marck

I have about 50-55.000 $ invested in my '68...
In todays market, I just might be able to sell it without loosing money on the deal, but I'm not sure..

So far I have almost $45,000 in my General Lee

Including what we paid for it, we have about 45k into it. Were I to sell the car, even in this crappy market, I'm confident we could get $55k for it.

I don't have $50K in all four of my cars. The General lee has just over $6500.00 in it. Course, I don't look to win any trophies either.

I put about 30k + 5k, for a solid body, so far into my 71 custom super bee, modernized a lot of it. its not done yet and in its shape I could probably sell it for 4k, its stripped primed and blocked about to be painted

When someone asks and I add up the cost I typically don't count a lot of the nickel and dime stuff. There's the purchase price, the body work and paint price, the rebuilt engine/trans/rear end price, etc. But I'm sure if I were to go through the receipts (the ones I kept) they would probably add up to some giant number I don't want to see. I've got about $28k in those big items I just mentioned and probably another $10k-$15k in the nickel and dime items.

I have roughly about $20,000 into my 68 total....     including the car I bought as a running / driving 318 auto for $10,000...      So between the hemi, 5-speed, paint, bodywork, suspension, etc...    it's about another $10,000  ----      I'm confident I could easily sell the Charger for double what I have into it...

Well known fact I paid 30k and put a good 15k more in it.  I feel it's worth the 30K I paid but anyone that's seen the car thinks more.
For the guys that say their car is worth 45 to 55?  I haven't seen the cars or know the options but I think not. Not in this piss hole market.  :rotz: :Twocents:
Kinda odd the guy that started the thread didn't list his numbers?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
