This is looking really good - keep the pics coming!

I noticed the trunk/latch support was cut away - no doubt for clearance for the tail lights.
How do they intend to latch the lid closed?
I'd suggest adding some type of support back in the center - wouldnt take much to bend the metal above the tail lights if someone were to lean on it...

Latest pics. The mirrors are from a 1970 Challenger (modified) and the design for the door handle is also 1970 Challenger inspired.

DAY CLONA

Nice to see something a little "different" being done, great looking project, those Challenger tailights look more at "home" on your Charger than they do the Challenger....you get my vote for the shaved door handle :2thumbs:.....IMHO I'd go with electric door poppers/openers rather than handles of any type, recessed/flush or not, keep the car "clean" looking....one question though, on the mirrors have you considered the 70 B body racing mirrors?(no visible screw/mounting holes), identical to the 71 A body racing mirrors, very sleek, more so than the 71-4 E body mirrors currently mocked up on the car, which still look good, but?

Is the front bumper going to be body color?

I'll take a look at those mirrors, thanks. I think we have about 15 hours into these mirrors, but not sure how we are mounting them yet.

Yes the front bumper is going to be painted, it is actually going to look quite different, we are doing it in carbon and modernizing the entire look of it to roughly match that of a 2011 Challenger.

Head hit steel bar = ouch.
that's what padding is for. given the strength in a crash, a roll bar would be a good idea imo.

WOW! After seeing the pics of that taillight installed, it looks better than I thought. VERY nice work! Love the "Tucked-up-close" look of the rear bumper.
While i'm not a huge fan of shaved door handles, that conversion looks like it might have come that way from the factory. Again, very well done.

That is amazing. Wish I had some extra cash to do that. Keep up the good work the car is going to be awesome when its finished

Just wondering what you guys think about putting in a cage? Right now we are leaning towards not doing it. The car will have 620 hp, but will not be raced on a track.

Also we have decided to re-do the front bumper and rear bumper in carbon, and simplify the lines, tighten it up, etc.

With 620hp id be looking to add at least a 6pt rollbar ; It will stiffen the chassis up significantly  :2thumbs:

I have seen many hot rodded unibodies over the years with twisted bodies and torn sheetmetal.  :P

The right rollbar will not be that noticable and provide a measure of safety and rigidity to the chassis.  :icon_smile_big:

Great job on that car !!!

nvrbdn

why are you doing the rear valance that way? i see in your drawing that the center area is raised, but with your insert, it is flat. is there a reason for that added piece that im missing? i like the way it was smoothed in the corners, but the added piece will add lines. just askin :shruggy:
