"California Baby" the true west... The neighbors to the north are kind of P-Oed, it seems they were left off the map, also the rest of the countries not included, I'm sure you are well aware of it by all the responses now, maybe rename it "what region in the U.S. do the U.S. members live"...

Terrible map... And New York isn't Mid Atlantic... :shruggy:

What is it then?

If you look up the Mid-Atlantic states, everything between New England and the Southern States (that's New York, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Virginia, West Virginia) is generally considered Mid-Atlantic... so now I'm curious, what would you call it?

always wondered why Illinois was considered the mid west, since they are so much closer to the east coast.  I guess I would rather live in the mid west than the middle east :smilielol:
Way back in U.S. history early 1800's before the Louisiana purchase, that was what was considered the west...  After the Louisiana Purchase in April 1803 it became somewhat the north western middle of the then U.S. , I think that name just stuck... I would agree it makes no sense to call anything east of Oklahoma or Kansas the west anything...

Wow, I really kicked up a hornet's nest here!

I assumed that the bulk of the members where located in the US and wanted the number of poll choices to be somewhat manageable.

Looking at the discord over the US map regions shows me that the same discord or more would have also occurred if the poll options included regions around the world.

Hope the poll is enjoyed anyway.

I don't think of the Mid-Atlantic being North of the Mason Dixon Line. Then again, I was speaking with a lady from NC about the south and she thought Virginia was a "Yankee State"    Cute girl, but...  :silly:

She's right, The Mason Dixon line isnt the "Line" anymore.  Anything north of the Red River is considered "Yankee"  :smilielol:

Stretch

Well according to that map I'm "mid-west". I always considered Michigan's Upper Peninsula the "North East"!

I'm 100 miles stright north of Green Bay Wisconsin. You decide.
I may be schizophrenic but at least I have us!

Maybe time zones would have made it easier, in both Canada and the US.  :shruggy:
