How hot do they get?

prolly a max of 1300ish degrees  F, at a guess  :shruggy:  , more if your  the mixture & timing is  out  ,

  no totally 100% on the  tempreture  , but got to be close to that up  where the primary bolts to the head  !!  may be 1000 to 1300 degrees F , at WOT  :scratchchin:

I took the temp with a lazer temp gage at the first turn near the head after a long drive with the engine still  idling. About 600*F with plain black headers. I am sure they are hotter under load.

the exhaust temp is approx 1200to a high of 1300* leaving the cylinder , some is lost to the coolant around the exhaust port , but I would expect to see 1100* + for  header temp near the head under load , I have seen them glowing orange during break in runs

Ceramic coating helps a lot with underhood temps.  :yesnod:

My TTI's measured @ 425*F with an IR gun with the engine at operating temp.  :2thumbs:

The hottest I measured mine was about 375*F, but it was around town not at the track or after extended highway running. Ceramic is the only way to go; we used Jet-Hot.
