440 Source Valve Covers

anyone have experience with these valve covers? are they good or are they "Add-A-Leaks"

always had good luck with 440 Source so just curious before I order

never used them but the big problem is the original cast iron heads were never flat so the steel covers could flex & seal to the uneven surface , alum will not flex , it just cracks so on a cast head they will leak , on an alum aftermarket head the surface will be milled flat & cast alum covers will work .So without knowing what head you are using I am not sure !!

Good points Neil and very true. I have a buddy using these on many motors. He is using 2 sets of gaskets on all the iron heads to keep the leaks to a minimum. NO leaks on the aluminum heads with a single gasket.

The iron heads have always had this issue, but some will machine the cover edge of iron heads while having head work done. I had a set that DRAKE'S engine shop did years ago and they never leaked with the real shitty old aluminum valve covers of yester-year...
