off road racing in texas....

last weekend i attended the Baja Racing of Texas 300 mile off-road event near blackwell, texas.  i have participated in a few off-road  races here in oklahoma and texas. no duties at this race as a navigator so i helped out in the pits for friends on their buggies and trucks. 42 trucks, buggies and UTV's started the 300 mile race. the event was held on private land, The Texana Ranch, 4,000+ acres. the track was a 42 mile loop with pits at the start/finish line and at mile 26. here a few pics from the race...

and the winner is....jesse james! he now resides in austin, texas. he competes in SCORE races in baja, mexico in his trophy truck but he raced with the BRT promoters, and donated all of his winnings to a injured soldier charity.  here are a few pics of his truck and his camper :cheers:
