pinch weld rust

On these chargers is pinch weld rust common? Im not talking about the back window stuff. One example would be in the interior where the kick panel goes. Its a little crunchy in between where the factory spot welded the two panels together. I can see some flaky material in between but both sides seem strong still. Would media blasting in there do any good? What did you do? Thanks

can open up the gap in between the spot welds &  blast / acid or wire brush  or combination or all three depending how bad it is  , drill out the spot weld &  open the panels up !
never had to on mine there luckily , but did one spot on the back glass channel  pinch weld
