WINGIN IT

I don't see any wiring to the ballast resistor.
I know the engine compartment is by no means correct, but is it missing wiring ??

Not sure I like the welded up nose look...

65post

It looks like a real solid car.Though a little naked with no wheel well chromes.
Previously owned Daytona XX29L9B423239 - f8 - white int. - power windows.

Good question, I'm sure someone out there knows the history on this car... :popcrn:

Pardon my ignorance but what are those screens in the second to last pic in the auction?
From the fender scoops?

I would say those are the fender pod screens. They look like them to me. What is laying under them though? Parts of the original fenders or something else??

Charger-Bodie

Looks like someone bolted a stel plate to the screens to stop (slow down) the slop from spraying out onto the fender top. Maybe those flopped and the weld came loose holding the screens in place?

I looked up its vin and dealer I got the dealer ad for this. The Charger ads read Mr Idlertons personal car is a 69 daytona.
Car has a 70 dual snorkel air cleaner and Direct connection valve covers with part number on top.And straight head screws holding on fender tag

In this day and age, I can't fathom a person leaving a Daytona Charger with 70's -era modifications like a molded-in nosecone. It defies logic. :slap:
The paintjob is terrible too. Look at the overspray on the cowl, and that trunk is unforgivable.

The worst part: even with all of the above (which would cost copious $$$ to correct) the car is still bloody rare and desireable!!

Which means we're all suckers for a big nose!! :yesnod:

it's easier to fathom, when you remember that not everyone is in to them, for the money. a long-time owner wouldn't have to worry about it hurting the return on his purchase price.

How do those screens install? I don't see any holes for screws or bolts on them.

Also is that a fuel pump just below them?

Auction description notes this is a "second chance offer" auction. I don't recall seeing this one before.
So what's the opinion on WIW in it's current condition?

It needs way to much $$$$ put into it to bring it up to today's standards.I will give him $25 grand and drive it the way it is !!!!!!

WIW?

I doubt it's worth the 140K, but I think to someone just wanting a decent driver - $100K should not be out of the question

wrong engine-trans along with color and the auto will hold it back to most

:Twocents:

WINGIN IT

I think I'd just get it real good running condition and drive the heck out of it.
Leave the anal resto stuff to someone else...  :Twocents:

They are spot-welded to the underside of the fender.  No holes for screws or bolts, as you've already noticed.

I do not disagree, tons of rework (or drive all the time)... Call me when it works out for you and I would be interested in doubling your money in a wk.........   :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol: :slap:

Not trying to be mean or anything but based on what other Daytona's are being advertised for and obviously not selling at those prices I'd have to say that this one would be in the range of $75-85K tops. And that would be what he could get out of it. The owner is probably hoping to get at least $100-115K out of the car but I just don't see it happening anytime in the next year or so at that asking price.
