What needs to be done to go Non-A/C?

My car is factory A/c, but I don't like A/c and in ND.......well enough said about that.

I've been through the service manual, and searched the threads...can't find all the answers.

I know about the pulley changes and the water pump, and the different throttle spring mount, and the alternator bracket change.

I need to know about the plumbing on the firewall and what happens under the dash.  If I don't want my car to have A/c, what do I do with the firewall plumbing?  Can I just route the heater hoses as usual, and plug or eliminate the rest of the stuff?

What about the heater-A/C core in the box?  Can I still use that?  How about the heater-A/C controls, will they still work OK?

Thanks.....

Yes, just disconnect the AC lines and remove them. Heater and defrost will work normally. You will still have heat and the high fan AC setting, just no chilly air.

PS - Save all that stuff!

Thanks, Mike.

Yeah, I'll keep the old stuff....it's like mint compared to what's being re-used out there.

I'll gladly take the firewall forward A/C stuff off your hands  ;D

Mine is MIA and I'm trying to put it back....

to do it correctly  -  find a donor firewall and replace your A/C firewall -     get rid of all the A/C engine bay stuff and the evaporator - also replace the dash vents, controls, etc...

You could sell off a complete A/C system for BIG $$$ nowadays...      ask Chris

Nothing that extreme for me......she's a numbers car and an R/t to boot.   Maybe the A/C will go back on in the future.
