So I guess the goal here is to punish those who excel and remove them from the game so the remaining mediocre players can play other mediocre players which ensures that no one is motivated to do any better. Brilliant! Political correction making the world a better place by forcing it to perform to the level of the lowest common denominators. No wonder this country is in a flat spin.

Wow, thats crazy.

He says he's ok with it. "God always coms first. God first, grades second."  The kid has his priorities in order.  :2thumbs:

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

Is he wearing a vikings jersey?  They could use the help right about now.

Wondering how long it takes them to just hand him the ball and tell him to stop at the 1 yard line? At least he knows there's no stupid rule once he gets to the next level.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

This situation is not a complete anomaly.  It has happened many times before cable T.V. or the internet needed content.   The fact they had to enact/enforce the rule is the result of a bone headed coach.  Most coaches with a brain will let a kid like that score a few and then move him to guard or defense.  Put him back in if the game gets close.  This coach must not have had the opportunity to "leave it all on the field" during his carreeer (or lack there of).

It's not about taking the competitiveness out of the game.  It's about making sure the school is competitive at the next level.  These leagues are part of the school's farm system.  Even if he doesn't quit growing next year, or decide to hold hands with his girlfriend in the bleachers instead of playing high school ball, he's not going to win the conference by himself.

Regarding that, my nieces (4 and 5 years old) played softball for the first time this year. One of the rules is that all outs must be "assisted" - which means a fielder-in-the-pitcher's-position can't just grab every short ground ball (there are a lot of them!) and run to the base for a force out. It's a way to keep everyone involved and to keep one player from winning the game alone. However, it's not the same as saying "Mandy Johnson can't score any runs".
