This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

RECHRGD

That's what I keep in the Charger's trunk.  I've never had to use it, but When testing it out it worked fine.

lets get a group buy going on them ??  i could use one to move from car to car for trips
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

Aero426

Two words come to mind, and they are "light duty".    It looks like it would fold over picking up a real car.

How do you get it down once it is stuck in the up position?  (You know it's gonna happen.)

To me it looks like an overcomplication of a simple solution.

I Agree, That model looks a little on the "LITE DUTY" side of things, Great Idea though, I'd be interested in a little beefed up model.

Nice find Bryan

Looks to me like you're going to wind up with a flat tire AND a dead battery with that thing...

When these first came out I was interested in getting one for my Viper but after reading the customer feedback on many vendor's sites I decided against it.

One buyer at Amazon said "While the car was rising, I hear two snaps and the car start to sway over. The plastic legs broke off - that's right plastic - they are painted to disguise themselves as steel."
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Aero426

There is a 4100 lb capacity model in the Summit catalog alongside the cheaper one pictured here.    But I'd still think long and hard about trying to pick up the front of a Charger.   Look at the photo.  It looks like stamped light guage sheet metal.   As it is with most quality tools, there is no free lunch.

This looks like what's on my travel trailer for stabilizers.  :icon_smile_big: ( without the electic part)

Back N Black

I carry a 2 ton trolly jack in the trunk.

Two words come to my mind too, and they are "lazy ass." This is like using an electric can opener. Is it really that much work to hand-crank a scissor jack?

A383Wing

well, when you have had colon surgery and 3 cracked discs in your lower back...get back to me on that question and let me know

two more words for you..."Dumb Ass"

bull

Whoa, easy big fella. I'm not creepin' your profile enough to know all your personal maladies. I wasn't talking about you specifically anyway and until now I didn't pay any mind to who started the thread. Instead of assuming I'm trying to be an A-hole let's just say I meant it's a "lazy ass" tool for any able-bodied male, K? :2thumbs:

I have some kit that I got years back in a black duffel type bag with a trolly jack,  electric impact, small 12v air pump and other stuff that came from Sams club of all places... without going out to the garage,  the name Laramie comes to mind.  The jack was never that great anyway,   the air pump hose fittings broke off but I fixed it, etc.  Typical SE Asia quality stuff.   But it also fits some spare fluids and a few extra tools.

It stays in the trunk on the fuel filler side fairly well.      I keep a rolled up set of fender covers tucked between it and the quarter panel just in case.

I replaced the jack with a compact aluminum racing jack from harbor freight that I found on sale there one day.   Fit in the bag nicely,   2 pc handle fit also.  :2thumbs:   Saved a few pounds over the old jack.

I think if I were going to buy something like that, I'd go with one a little heavier duty.

me too...but I was just wondering what people thought about this type of jack..was not necessarily going to buy the cheapest version out there

RECHRGD

I think mine is rated for 2 tons, but will have to check to make sure.  The car is at my storage unit now.  I do know that it seemed to have no problem lifting the rear of the Charger, but I didn't check how it did on the front.  As I recall it did have a manual way to crank it down if the need arises.  I also carry one of those portable battery jumper thingys that is always charged and the jack will plug right into it if need be.   Bob

I think it's unique and I like unique. With the way my luck goes though, The motor would probably freeze up due to lack of use and I wouldn't notice it until a day when I needed it to work.  :icon_smile_blackeye:

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I've been looking to replace my 25 year old floor jack for a while now. I can't find a floor jack that's not made in China, and considering how well made most products coming from there are, I'll keep what I got.
