hi there, i purchased a remote trunk release for my '69 charger project and thought it would bolt right in.  it looks to be very very similar to the original... but it doesn't seem to want to latch. i was talking with someone about this, but can't remember what they told me.  any one do this yet and have any tricks for me to get it working?
thanks guys!

i got one out of a cordova and it bolted right in and works great in my road runner   :shruggy:
there is some slight adjusting but the mounting holes are slotted  to slide and adjust .

I can tell you that an electric unit from a 73 Chrysler will bolt in and function in a second gen Charger. I did shave a bit of the top "ear" off to enable the Charger's striker to enter the catch. I have heard factory second gen trunk releases are vacuum operated, and have never seen one up close, so I'm sorry I can't tell you how to fix it.

Wait a second... I apologize if you've already thought of this, and don't mean to call you "challenged" by any  means...  but, the latch is not currently in the "set" position, is it?
