went to the tire shop today to look for new tires and my outer tie rods are shot on my 07 300c. they were swamped so he didnt have time to give me an estimate on replacing them but he said he would knock off the 80 dollar alignment if he done it. after some research here on the web i can buy the ball ends at auto zone for 30 buck. car quest has the whole tie rod for 50 and napa has them for 42 but napa has a 15 dollar shipment on each one cuz they are in different states. if i do it myself can i just replace the ball ends or do i need to buy the tie rod? in my mind its just the ball ends that would wear out right? or is there some thing else that i cant see? i like the idea of them doing my alignment but if they are gunna charge a fortune for the two ball joints and labor i would rather do it myself. really i think i can do it cheaper the only kicker is i would have to pay for the alignment.
Restoring a charger is like a saying I heard along time ago "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it".... Jesus I wish I could remember who said that...

The 2005-2008 LX platform (Charger, 300, Magnum etc) are horrible for front end issues. #1 issue are the tie-rods wearing out. My '05 Magnum R/T needs 'em too. Cheap enough fix if you can do it yourself.
