Is it my eyes or has someone pumped white caulking in between the hood skin and the frame...

Good eyes - obviously a cheap fix for an oil-canning problem.

That stuff should be done before paint.

Beautiful car, great detail but isn't the rad cap incorrect?  How do small things like that front and center slip by?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

randr

if your gunna go with the cap, what about the disconnect? damn nice looking daytona though! and seems cheap!

sure its been discused before but
always wondered  why Daytonas seemed to have the 68 chrome shift knob more than the C500 , surly it should be the other way around :scratchchin: if it was a left over part  !! or  maybe a parts shortage with the woodgrain one during a specific SPDs /close vin sequences  :scratchchin:   ,i remember the first ever daytona i ever saw in real life when i was 15ish  had a chrome shifter knob (& at one time  many years ago   thought all daytona got the chrome one because thats all i was seeing  :shruggy:) ,  yet it has been mentioned if i remember correctly  a few/known original / unrestored  69 XP & XS chargers have had chrome shifter knobs from the factory / or look to be factory  also :shruggy:
just had a look at the road test on the 22" radiator daytona , (as all ready had it by the computer ,)  looks like it might be a woodgrain deal :scratchchin:

My 69 had chrome but I changed it to wood to match the dash and console.  I also had the black door knob buttons on the outside.  My car is NOV.

Sure looks like it and as someone pointed out, those are OLD pictures to be posting on a forsale ad. It's like posting high school graduation pictures on match.com for a 40 year old.

The caulkiing could be hidden if a hood pad was installed and it would look ok...

The only qestion would then be - what looks worse - the caulking or the repro hood pad.... :scratchchin:

Very true... I guess I got lucky in whoever got my hood pad, got a decent one.
