I'm beat,
Attended two car shows this weekend and took a ton of pictures.
Saturday the wife and I did The Ironstone Concours d' Elegance and hung out with DAN (68X426) and his lovely bride.
Awesome day, Awesome cars and Awesome Friends.

Its a great bargan for a show. For $50 you get admission for two, a bottle of wine, two wine glasses, a buffet lunch and see millions of dollars worth of cars. Admission for spectators is $35 and they get none of the extras.

Sunday the wife and I attended a local car show at Elk Grove park.  The show was put on by a local Camero club and was mainly a muscle car show.  Weather was much cooler today than it was Saturday and even rained a few times for several minutes.  This was the first car show that I have gone to where the car club members actually walked around and placed the cars into thier prospective classes and you did not get to choose the class you would were placed in.  Well I'm sorry to report that I did not recieve the best Mopar award but I did win the award for best Stock 60's car.   The Charger parked next to me with the lambo doors recieved the award for modern modified.  Very nice guy.  Best of show went to the 67 Satalite and the black Challenger recieved the award for Best Mopar.

A couple of cuties in cheerleader outfits were walking around so I asked nicely if they would take a few picture with my Charger.
I'm not sure if I'm sleeping on the couch or not tonight.

Yeah the Saturday show was awesome. There were 270 entries, down from 350 last year. A true concours event, with dozens of cars worth $1 million and up, and half or more would be (and are) from museums and collections. It still surprises me that they let in riff-raff with a muscle car (that's me, Steve is a refined gentleman).

Besides all of the "ordinary" $250k to $500k cars, like Packards, LaSalles, Pierce Arrows, there were $1 million cars, like Stutz Bearcats (3!), a Tucker, a Franklin, Graham, Mitchell, Apperson, (these are the rarest of the rare) and topped off with 1896 Riker Electric Roadster and a 1912 Harley. The campers and RV division was incredible (about 15 total from the 40s and 50s). Those folks really put the love into their show trailers.

The Best of Show was a Mopar !!!!! But not what you might think. It was a 1947 Chrysler Town and Country Woody, with an incredible history, brought in from a museum in Sacramento. The Best Truck went to a Mopar. It's a 62 Power Wagon Fire Truck, and it is special to behold.
