Call the local humane society and tell them its a stray. They will either send someone to get it, or ask you to take it to them.

And...after seven days...they kill it...

Not all of them. There are a lot of "no-kill" shelters around.

The humane society here kills them if nobody wants them after 7 days.

There is a no kill shelter in town. But I think you have to live inside the city limits to bring one in.

Will call them on Monday...

Just tell them you found it inside city limits. We have several folks who allow there cats to "roam the neighborhood", I feel sorry for them as you know they can only end up in trouble from it. They get fleas, ticks and Lord knows what else digging in garbage and eating lizards. All of the stray ones that were trapped to be caught tested positive for Feline Leukemia, the strays spread it to the ones with homes.  :rotz:

I agree It's yours and already has the wife trained. This keeps happening at my house. The current count is near 15. Since we moved here 9 years ago we have fixed about 40 cats and more keep coming. Bad system in this state no dollars to low cost spay and neuter and turned in animals die.
That cat looks like a good one too and it did pick you  :2thumbs:

So....now that we have all figured out that the cat has a new home....

what's his or her name gonna be?

maybe we need to start throwing names out there so you & the wife can choose

You know, growing up I never had a cat and even disliked them to the point of being a little mean to neighborhood cats for no particular reason. Probably my Dad was the cause as we always had an "outside" dog around growing up but, no cats even though I never heard him speak bad of them around us kids.

As an adult, I got asked by my wife if I wanted a kitten as she had been offered one by a co-worker and that was the start of a life-long relationship with cats as we have always had one or more (no more than 3) at all times since then. By the way, we have been married 35 years now and she also grew up in a home with no cats as pets. All but the first one did like yours apparently and just wandered up as a kitten and"adopted us". Even though I was a little resistant at first on just about every case, they seemed determined to stay and have all been that way since ! I love my cats and would not trade their independent nature for anything now. They can be wonderful pets! Your wife has fed this one and you now have a cat as a pet and friend. Don't carry it off to a shelter and you won't be sorry!

A383Wing

yea...what he said above....we always had cats when we were growing up and raising our kids...they are very smart..and make great pets...don't sell him short for just wandering in....if he didn't like your house and family, he would not have come to yo or your wife

our last cat died at 16 years old...I cried for a week

Im sure you can find somone locally that would love to have him/her. If I lived close I would take it in.  Over the years I have taken in a few strays and have no regrets.

It was curled up under my truck this morning.

It's going to get squished in the driveway.

Kitty has got to go.

It won't be under the truck for long.  Eventually it will work his way up to a safer place on the top of the car.  Just follow the scratch marks.

to stop if from curling up under the truck take it in the house. it won't scratch your car either in the house.
This one moved in the house today. Its mom showed up about 6 weeks ago and gave birth to it under the house a few weeks ago. Last week she moved it onto the porch. I came home from work today mom and kitten are in the house. They named the mom beetle juice and the kitten snap dragon. Snap dragon likes climbing under my beard. We also have one named dodge. I had to climb under a dodge 3500 and pull him from between the upper control arm and frame at work a few months ago. We couldn't let the kitten just go when I fished him out. The operator had no clue where they were when he climbed in.

If you live out in the country, get it fixed, mouse control, if not, cat cannon, 6 ft. fence cleared. Do not have any cats, dog person, any come around & get in with the dogs, they have new but short lived toy. But he is cute & my sister has had a stray that found her for about 8 years now, nice cat.
