can a 383 block take the 400 bore ?

some local "experts" says it is posible but... how true is that  :scratchchin: :-\ :shruggy:

You would definately want to Sonic test the Cylinder Wall thicknesses FIRST, but off the top of my Head I would say NOT reccomended.

yeap, thats what I though, Thanks Bob.

I got an "incident" with my 400 block on cilinders and had to end getting 0.020" KB215 ( arrived today ), so selling locally the standard ones I had initally to built my engine. A guy with a 0.060" 383 was wondering about that... there is another guy thinking to make the same on another 383 he is trying to get locally. ( two posible buyers then )

So, now I can sell BUT saying its at his own risk, if they proceed correctly with sonic test... and wash my hands.

if you feel between the water jacket holes & the cylinder wall you can get a curved caliper in there the get a rough idea of the available wall thickness , I would still sonic check it if it measures good
