The Superbird spent about a year "down on the farm", before being moved back to San Antonio where it was stored in a boat storage unit to protect it from the elements...:icon_smile_wink:

Hey I think I been to the "farm".   Long time ago. I remember it being real dark out and very late at night. Or maybe it was real early in the morning.   But I got to say I had never seen a "farm" with that much Mopar stuff before that night.  :2thumbs:

Yes you were many years ago... during your Hemi Car raid.  :yesnod:  Oh, and I have been told in no uncertain terms that Jim Walton's place made mine pale in comparison...

So Dave, when you coming down for a visit/raid?

These history threads are great reading for me. Its amazing how much info is still out there in newspapers or pictures in previous owners photo albums.  If it were only easier to get tho....

Yes, indeed.. It was great talking to the original owner of my Daytona and hearing his stories; how the purchase came to be, all the band members buying Daytonas and then, in a episode of rage, blew the original 440...

Stuck?... Ahhh, dang... With all those 4-speeds........... You could have unloaded things with a simple 3 fer 1......  :)  Especially now with the 500 getting closer........   Speaking of which, and to change the subject, how's your inventory/arranging going?

Speaking of which, and to change the subject, how's your inventory/arranging going?

Not a lot of progress on the inventory so far, but the re-arranging is starting to rev-up... especially now with cooler weather finally starting.  A major milestone was reached last weekend, with the second workshop "annex" being powered up... it's wiring was completed two years ago, but the feeder run through the "Dodge Mahal" and an underground conduit was finally completed last week.  This clears the way for a new 16 camera color high-res video surveillance system to replace the old 4 camera B&W system, might happen in the next week or so.

There has been significant progress on clearing up floor space by utilizing the warehouse shelving that I acquired recently.  A friend who is an artist with metal is starting to build special racks for cylinder heads, transmssions, etc for future use.  Right now he is developing a roll-a-round engine cart design, and we just field tested a general-use cart he built with two Hemi blocks... no problem!  So much progress is being made, but there is a long way to go...  The sale of my Challenger convertible is pending... hate to see it go, but the money is needed to fund other projects.

As far as trades, I am certainly open to trades for a turn-key Daytona or Superbird, especially a Daytona with an Automatic.  As my cars start to get restoration work done on them, the chances of a trade being worked out are significantly lower... I am open to all levels of trading, so what is available for trade depends on what is being offered...  I am also open to trading for a Daytona clone, but cars like the Hemi `Cuda will not be part of that trade.  In addition to several cars, I have a life-long gathering of Mopar parts that can be part of a trade, so a deal like a car plus parts like a 69 RR Air Grabber hood, 18 spline Hemi 4 Speed, NOS 70 Cuda front valance, NOS 70 E-Body Pistol Grip shifter set-up, NOS 70 `Cuda grille & HL bezels, 1970 B-Body 4.10 Dana rear axle, Etc.

Twenty years ago most of these cars and parts would never have been offered for sale by me... advancing age and other life interests & priorities changes things!

Thanks for posting the pic, and no problem with hi-jacking... I already hi-jacked this thread to ramble on about the FM3 GTX... ;)  As I recall your car came from Nowell in Arlington, Texas... I will see what I can find on the newspaper archive sites that I am using...

While we wait and see if the original owner supplies some back-in-the-day pics, I  will post some more before clean-up pictures.  Later I will post new pics to show how the 'Bird cleans up...

First the worst side of the car, the passenger side that you have already been seeing pics of.  It is still in work, but starting to look a bit better...
