There should be 2 areas. One pad will have the VIN (passenger side), the other (drivers side, near the pan and linkage) will have the part number and assembly date (using the 10000 day calender).

John_Kunkel

The raised pad on the passenger side of the bellhousing will be stamped with the VIN.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

so i found the numbers with the vin and the stamp was messed up from the factory.  :brickwall: the numbers are kind of read-able but it looks like the trans moved during the stamping. so the numbers are drawn out.

John_Kunkel

Not uncommon, the numbers were stamped with a pneumatic gun and double/triple hits are known to happen.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

1969 car built at the Hamtramck plant.

That is the raised casting date, the part number (should be 2892090) and build date are stamped in the drivers side pan rail just above the gasket.

Looks like a casting date with the dots - either on the main case or tailshaft housing. Ooooops - John K already replied with that.

What is your car VIN?

Well you already stated you found  " 9b32045" on your trans and your VIN is 9b392045

If you re-check I am sure you will find it actually says 9b392045 on your trans......Ding  Ding   Winner    Matching
