with of the butt stripe for 68 Charger?

I am considering putting a butt stripe on my 68 even though it is not an R/T, just for something new, and to cover up a huge nick in the paint.

how wide is the butt stripe from the side marker back toward the door? I know the left big stripe is cut our for the side marker.

I need to see if it is wide enough to cover up the imperfection in the paint.

7" and its 3" gap between tail and stripe. I put mine on myself with the help of some soapy water and firm squeegee.

Butt stripe?  Never heard it called that, nor do I wish to ever hear it again. R/T stripe, tail stripe etc..... Sounds so much better.

Please just don't put it on all crooked, like its parallel with the rear angle.. it needs to be plumb..
