...... and every month I see different ads on Craigslist.   So I was in the area on Sunday and decided to stop by and see this car for myself.

Please click on the Craigslist ad-
http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ctd/2606267353.html

For at least the last 6 months this car has been sitting in the back of the building.  My guess is the engine needed to be rebuilt so they made it a project.

Now for the fun stuff.  As the car sits right now, it has been virtually the same for the last 6 months.   On Sunday I was floored on what I saw------------

It's been raining on and off for the last month!!!  Wonder how much water got into the carb??  Interior must smell great!!  Check out the hook on the trunk??

Perfect running order?

You never know what your going to get!

Maybe it is a new type motor the runs on water, and they are probably just washing the interior :2thumbs:

Yes.  I wonder where the dash came out of?

That's the same dash/gauge cluster as my 71 SE. Except the insert on the passenger side for the vents looks funny.
Nice job cutting in the carpet around the console.

Reading that Craigslist ad just makes me

The ad should read-

Sellers Description
This vehicles engine is in perfect working condition (tested with water). The transmission shifts like it was new (it may have been rebuilt about 3 owners ago). This vehicles exterior is clean (it's been raining a lot so all the tree sap is finally off of it). The interior of this automobile is clean. (again, rain does an amazing job when you keep a window or two open)

I meant to call them today and give them some crap and see how they would react.   Bottom line, I hate people that do the "smoke and mirrors" advertising crap.

Well, They did put some pieces of plastic on the carpet. That should have helped.  ::)

Now they raised the price....

I guess since it is freshly detailed and the hood is on, they can sell for more money. :scratchchin:

Great strategy! for sale for one year.  If it doesn't sell raise the price :shruggy:

It did work for me - I was selling a car at $32k and tired of the time wasters/tire kickers offering $20k or less... I raised my price several thousand dollars and sold it for a little more than my original asking price. Strange, but true...

1970Moparmann

Stupid is what stupid does.    Based on above, they had to get the engine rebuilt.

Not only to I believe it's a different dash than yours, but didn't the carb at least have a aircleaner on it ? It looks like it did ? :scratchchin:

I love the paint overspray all over the valvetrain. looks like with some attention it could be a fun car. but a lot of money for a small block driver imo

Hmmm, he might be a member here...The add has been removed.  :scratchchin:
