Torsion Bars - Front / Rear Directional ?

I am fitting a new set of torsion bars, they have left and right markings but is there a front and back ? I seem to remember reading somewhere that the part number was stamped on one end and the prod date on the other and you had to fit the part number to the rear 9 I think ). Also does the line stamped across the end have to be horizontal /

The common consensus is that there is no front/rear but most of the ones I've seen had the P/N to the rear and the slot vertical.
