A while back I brought up a guy in the club restoring his 69 R/T to a ridiculously high level and promised some pics...I think they got posted, at least of the car at a show (Make-A-Wish)...but I don't think I ever got the resto end posted.

I think this will more than make up for it!

This was at our local Hooter's show today (well, Sunday) and the car looked great. He still has to iron out the brakes (mechanically speaking), but cleaned house at a small show Saturday (hence 5 of the 6 plaques in his trunk!).  He said he started feeling bad after the called his name for the 3rd time, lol.  I think it was based on popular vote, and I can't really argue with the people that voted.  He got Manager's Pick today to add to the stash...I think the +4 differential from Saturday's showing will keep him well ahead in the show/trophy ratio.

I apologize for the sun, the location wasn't ideal and I do my best to keep other cars/people out, which is somewhat hard.  Trenton wants to hit the big Mopar shows with the car if work will allow it and I think any of ya'll will enjoy checking it out in person as it is done to a very high level.  I'll cut to the chase now, the video is embedded for your quick viewing convenience:

Beautiful car for sure but where did the silver stripe on the tail lamps go?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Charger-Bodie

I always thought r6 was called "Scortch Red" Not Torch red.  :shruggy:
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Well in 1969 and on the Charger, it was just called "Red" and the code on the fender tag was R6. Your friend's car is beautiful and I hope mine is close to as pretty as his is finished .

Plymouth had a color and it was indeed "Scorch Red" and was basically the same color as Dodge's version of R6.

Glad ya'll enjoyed it...any time I do 66-74 stuff I try to reference this site and the registries  :2thumbs: I know Trenton has been on here looking at threads and for parts, but I hope when things slow down with his job that he will get on and post.  He has a few things left he wants to do or improve upon, not sure what all it is...I think most would be content as is, lol.

The car has a good story, hard not to tell it, but I like for the owner's to get to do that stuff...then I'll brag about it after that first go-around, lol.

I am hopeful that the 68 Charger with the 5.7 will make its way to the canyon here in a few weeks and I can get them lined up and side-by-side...I've never talked to the owners of the 68, but it looks to be a similar red and it would be a nice contrast to show "restoration vs mild custom."  If I ever catch him out when the sun isn't as bright I'll try to get a better vid and have the doors open etc.  I actually got burned pretty bad at the show, nice and overcast today...go figure, lol.
