The white Hemi 500 was a no sale at 80k.  No real bidders in the room.

Blue Superbird, 4bbl, stick, driver grade,  bid to apx 80k and no sale.  Should have sold.

1971 Hemi Cuda hardtop, numbers match, gold with billboards, no stories SOLD at 112k.   Another WOW.

I was offered 100K for my bird last fall. Maybe I should have taken it and gought a new Green with Envy 392 Challenger...

I have several musclecars and not one that I would trust well enough to drive cross country in the middle of the summer to go on vacation. At this point in my old age, it's less about investment and more about comfort and convenience.

there were a few bidders for the big stuff, but they were there for very specific cars.  a boss 9 went for nearly 300k, an arnie bestwick GTO pulled in over 200k, a yenko chevelle over 175k, and that was about it.  some of the cars which didn't sell didn't even have buyers in the room, like our 500.  the 66 hemi satellite we took had one real money bid at 72.5k, but the other car we ran had no one.  if you've been to a larger auction like indy or scottsdale then saw this one you'd be stunned at the lack of people in the seats.  there were tons of people AT the auction, but most were there with $15 general admission tickets and not bidder badges.  there were a number of reruns from past auctions which got more than 20% less money this time around.  it was bad enough that us sellers were mocking the place and coming up with new numbers for how little our stuff was worth.

BTW the bird reran late saturday and got another shill bid run to 82.5k.  it wasn't worth the effort...there weren't 12 bidders in the building when it went across.  I don't think the owner was there--I looked for him for two days.

The Boss Nine that was sold went for almost 300k.   Amazing that the Talladegas and Mercurys are so low.   If only Ford had gone to the trouble to fit the right engine into them.

Man you dont know how much of a FORD guy I was before I picked up the Bird. Once I had it, I tried buying a 428/C6 "T" but couldnt agree on price to suit both of us. In my head I wanted One each of the 4 Aero cars....meaning a Daytona-Superbird-Cyclone-Talladega. I didnt know about the slippery nosed Ford and Mercury cars until several years after getting the Bird.

Man you dont know how much of a FORD guy I was before I picked up the Bird. Once I had it, I tried buying a 428/C6 "T" but couldnt agree on price to suit both of us. In my head I wanted One each of the 4 Aero cars....meaning a Daytona-Superbird-Cyclone-Talladega. I didnt know about the slippery nosed Ford and Mercury cars until several years after getting the Bird.

Larry, I understand what you are saying, but I traded the Wannabee in on a 09 SRT8 Challenger and i think you would be sorry if you traded the Black Ice for a new Challenger.  It is cool and all the creature comforts are great, but I am 50 years old and definetly spent twice as much time in the Daytona and convertible challenger, than I did in the SRT8.  I put less than 1k miles on it.  It's just not the same and with all you gave up to get the bird, I think you would be kicking yourself if you let it go!

I had a few neat Fords before wingcars aswell 1967 Shelby  1971 429 SCJ Torino
